We Survived

Well, everything made it into a box and out to storage one way or another! Thanks to a bunch of help from friends and family!  Seriously, how did we collect so much stuff!? Nothing like a move to make you purge.

We managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the fair  which the kids were thrilled about (and which is also likely where Asa picked up the stomach flu! My poor mom - we were at her house for that part of things! We seem to have a knack for getting the flu while we're imposing on other people's hospitality!) Things are a little more settled and healthy again and I'm loving the fact that we don't have to worry about any more showings!

(Ida lounged while we packed. It doesn't bother her that Woody's head is only attached by his bandana. She carries him around everywhere, body dangling.  It's especially gruesome when we find him in the highchair, head on tray.)

Sold!

So the big news is that our house sold!  It'll all be final Monday morning and we're very excited, although we have no idea where we'll be moving to next!
We got a whirlwind offer that wanted to close in two weeks, so we've been buried under boxes, speed purging and packing, and trying to find the next place to go!  As we try to throw a little work in here and there this poor blog will probably continue to be neglected for a bit!

Selling

Yup, we're putting our house on the market! We've come to the conclusion that we really want to build, so here goes nothing!
There's a link to the listing on the side bar if you're interested!

House Projects

We've been working around the house quite a bit lately - trying to get things prepped before the baby arrives!  Here's my green house (thanks Mom and Pop!) working great!  We're almost ready to move it outside to start hardening things off.  Greenhouse from here: Gardman R687 4-Tier Mini Greenhouse.
Mike put up chair rail in the baby's room.  And thanks to Laura, we got the fabric circles and bassinet bedding finished.  (We still have bedding to put on and stuff to hang so we're not quite there yet.)

My dad finished painting these canvas squares!  Aren't they fun?  So we're making progress - we'll see if the checklist can get completed in the next 4 weeks.  (That checklist includes picking a name....)

Baby Girl's Room

While Mike was on his last business trip, my dad came over and helped me paint the nursery to surprise him! We decided on Bird's Nest 618 by Benjamin Moore in an eggshell finish. (I'm a huge fan of Benjamin Moore paint - esp premium. This took one coat! Every time I've tried something else I pay for it in time by having to do multiple coats.)
Now for the crib, window, walls, dresser, etc... phew ... lots to go!

Fall (a little late!)

Our maple out back was just glowing all fall long - I kept meaning to post pictures so here they are now that snow is covering everything...

Food Face Plates

I'm really tempted to order this plate for Asa - although I'm not sure I want to encourage playing with your food...  and Asa eats so fast he might not even appreciate it.  Still - kinda fun huh?!

More House Updates

This past weekend we began to tackle the basement. All my before pictures are from our walk through (I didn't take any of the empty house). But we painted these walls and a few more with Stone Lion (Sherwin-Williams). We want to paint all the doors and trim white but that also requires getting new blinds and with the sun beating in we thought we'd hold off on that till later. We still need to get stuff up on the walls and someday replace the couches with sectionals, etc... but we love projects!

AFTER
And here's a sneak peek at the bedding set I got for the Master Room.  We painted the room Knitting Needles (Sherwin-Williams) with white trim.  I haven't finished painting the bathroom so I'll wait for pictures of the actual room till it's more complete.

Garden Updates

Mike got up really early to try and beat the heat while he put the new path in! It was still crazy hot out but he finished it and it looks fantastic!!

Home Updates

My dad painted the sailboat above from a picture that Danny Ryan took with our camera when we were visiting Rachel over at Flathead Lake.  He gave it to Mike for his bday and the frame for it just arrived yesterday!  Now to fix that mantle...
And I finally got around to painting the table legs white so that we actually have our kitchen table in use instead of in the garage!

Before and After

We're painting like crazy so that we can try and move in on Saturday! Here's some before and after (although during would be more accurate) pictures.  The before shots are from our walk-thru.  I didn't think to get any when the house was empty.

New House!

We'll sign the papers tomorrow and then, Lord willing, this will be our new place! We won't be able to move in until early June - and then we'll post some before and after pictures as we get in it!

Our House Sold!

We've accepted an offer on our house! We still have to close pending inspection so it isn't completely finalized yet but as long as everything goes smoothly it'll be done by April 15th!

Globe Clock

Wouldn't this make great office or classroom decor?! It's a tad big for our little study. Here's the how-to if you're interested.

New Header

I took this picture last year. Gerbera Daisies are my favorite flower and I had oodles of them all over my kitchen last year for the Valentine's Day arrangements. (I'm taking a break from doing flowers this Valentine's Day and only doing a few special requests.) The blog's a little pink but it won't be that way for too long.

Dad C took the photo below somewhere in Michigan. It's too neat not to share!
