Kiddo Sayings

Ida getting in the car at night.
"Mom we forgot the moon!"
Me: "It's too high up we can't reach it!"
Ida: "We could get a ladder and go get it!  Or we could do a ballerina jump like 'uh' and get it."

Ida was in the bathroom.
Me: "Hang on I'll go get you some more toilet paper."
As I'm running out,
Ida: "I can pretend I have toiled paper."
Noooo

Asa's thankfulness assignment at school.  Got a good laugh when this came home.

Kiddo Sayings

Ida holding the butt paste.
"This is for lego bum bums? And Sofie bum bum? And my bum bum?"

Holding Sofie on my lap and Ida comes over.
Ida: "This lap is only for girls."
Me: "Sofie's a girl."
Ida: "No, she's a baby. I'm the girl.

Asa: "It's a pretty good day for a nice turtley day.  That's why I'm wearing my turtle hat."

Ida running over to the window while Asa and Mike were leaving.
"Merry Christmas to everybody! Merry Christmas!"

We had a bowl of cilantro on the table for garnishing soup.  Ida took a leaf,
"MMmm I yike this salad." (She doesn't normally like lettuce or anything.)  Then took leaf after leaf after leaf and kept saying, "mmm, yummy salad."
Crazy girl.

Ida: "I'm a princess and you're a person."
Me: "I'm a person?"
Ida: "yes, hi person."

Thanksgiving Crafts

Asa had a Thanksgiving party at school which we made turkey cookies for.  Since we had so many extra, we decided to do a craft morning for some of Ida's friends too.
Hand and feet turkeys (got this idea from my sister-in-law and it's a great one!)

Table full of little cuties.

Foam teepees (the girls all went authentic with pink).

Cannot Get Enough

I know this picture is slighlty blurry, but this is these two to a T!  They crazy LOVE each other and they are absolutley goofballs.

Asa came downstairs while I was working on flowers, picked a bouquet for Ida and had to run to give it to her (again hence the bluriness - it was just too sweet.  That boy has my heart. Well, so does his dad!)

Oh Ida!

You're not set to go until you're "I'm all pink!" and you have a baby doll (and typically sparkly shoes.)

Pink snow beast. (Thanks to Nana for making the hat!)

How to be Rapunzel out in the snow. (This yellow blanket from Aunt Kajsa has been her favorite since she was a baby and lately it's taken on the task of being her Rapunzel hair.)

Early Morning Cartoons

The best way to watch cartoons (and yes, she's got her Rapunzel costume on over her pjs).

Kiddo Sayings

Driving home from school, Asa was singing a song in the backseat:
"And the God car made the Lightning car and he finished the race...and it was good."

On our vacation in Black Butte, the kiddos were sharing the pullout bed in the other room.  In the middle of the night I heard Ida whimpering,
Asa: "It's okay Ida.  It's only a dream.  God's watching out for you.  Let's pray.  Dear God please help Ida to have good dreams.  Amen."
Ida: "I'm still scared."
Asa: "Okay, let's pray again.  Dear God please give Ida sweet dreams about princesses."
Ida: "about Cinderella."
Asa: "about Cinderella.  Amen."

Ida wishes she was going to school with Asa.  Every day after dropping him off.
Ida: "I go to my classroom now. Where is my classroom?  It's on top of a tree!"

Working on potty training with Ida;
Me: "Ida, Wendy goes poo poo in the potty."
Ida: "No she doesn't she doesn't have any bum bum.  Just a dress."

1,2,3

I can't take photos of just one kiddo without others crowding in! (And Sofie doesn't look too happy about it)

Looks like the crazy sideways mouth is a family trait.

Ida's Rapunzel Bday

With the onset of summer, Sofie's birth, and everyday life - I've missed blogging about some key events that have happened in between!  One of those events was Miss Ida Mae's 2nd birthday.  I assumed that I'd get to decide and plan her parties for the first 2 years of her life at least, but ever since Amara had a Cinderella party in January, Ida was planning a Rapunzel party.  So Rapunzel it was!  Of course Sofie's arrival interrupted things and postponed her party.  But Mike came to the rescue and assembled her cake - shaped the tower and all - I just added frosting!  He decorated the house and really pulled it together for her! (My dad created the sun stencil for all the bunting in the background above.) I didn't even really take pictures- Dad Church did.  I pretty much sat around and held Sofie!

The kiddos enjoying the bubbles.

A few Rapunzels showed up at the party.

Our crazy girl!

And her crazy friend and cousin!

Sofie attended her first birthday party at just a few days old.
